Breaches of the Code of Practice

Definition

Breaches of principles, or associated protocols, within the Code of Practice for Official Statistics occur in situations where non-observance of the Code was not approved in advance by the National Statistician or Head of Profession (Chief Statistician or Registrar General in Scotland). An example would be a deliberate, or inadvertent, ‘leak’ to the press.
