Please note: Scotland level life expectancy levels within the above reports are a by-product of the process used to calculate smaller area life expectancy. They will differ from those in table 1 and table 2 (produced by ONS on the Life Expectancy at Scotland Level page) because slightly different processes are used to calculate each set of figures - ONS use 'interim' (single year of age) life tables whereas GROS use 'abridged' (grouped age) life tables. The figures presented in table 1 and table 2 are the official Scottish level life expectancy figures.
